How To Choose The Perfect Vacation Outfits For a Trip

Pick The Right Outfits For Your Vacation

We all want to look our best while travelling. We want to choose the perfect vacation outfits while travelling light and without compromising our personal style.

For that, you want to consider how all of your clothes can be worn together to make a small travel closet. No matter what you choose you’ll look good.

But what do we pack for our trip exactly? Essential items to bring are pyjamas, underwear, a face towel, and a bonnet.

For the rest of your clothes, consider these two factors when packing. The first is how many times a day you need to change clothes. It is important to figure out how much of an item you need to bring. And the second is how much space you have in your luggage.

For smaller luggage, you want to bet on items that can be worn many times, or different items that will occupy little space but still look good like one-piece outfits (dresses, rompers…). For bigger luggage, take options. Still consider what they will look like together, but bring what you want. You have the space for it.

I will leave below a few tips to help you choose and pack the perfect outfits for your trip.

 Let’s get started!

Dress for the occasion

Keep in mind the activities you have planned and dress accordingly. A brunch in a 5-star hotel and a hike require different dress codes.

Simply make a list of what you have planned and crosscheck it with what clothes you will need for that activity.

Use the clothes you have in your closet

You may feel pressured into buying new clothes for your trip, but you probably already have everything you need in your closet. Don’t be afraid to repeat outfits. If styled well clothes can look as if they are new.

Check the clothes you saved for special occasions or that you haven’t worn in a while. Go to your mom or sister’s closet. Borrow their clothes.

If you choose to buy, I suggest you shop online because it’s cheaper and it provides a lot more options. Be sure to do it with enough time for everything to arrive, or ship it directly to your destination.

But remember, the money you spend on new clothes you can use on the actual trip itself. If you want to buy something new, buy a purse or shoes that are functional after the trip is over. These are also statement pieces that can give new life to the clothes you already have.

Try the outfits you picked

Try all of the outfits before the trip. You don’t want to arrive at the beach with a bikini that no longer fits.

Trying all clothes allows for two things: first is to figure out if you need to buy new items to complete the outfit and the second is to understand if the combinations you made in your head work.

Mixing and matching different things you want to take on the trip helps in minimizing how many clothes you have to bring. Maybe you can bring only one pair of shorts with a different blouse, jewellery and shoes combination.

Check the weather of your destination.

Don’t assume to know what the weather will be like. Life has a way of surprising us. You don’t want to bring all summer clothes on a rainy day. Check the actual temperature and the RealFeel Temperature. Bring a jacket no matter the weather.

Decide on a style aesthetic

Since you already have to research the destination, you may as well see what the people were dressing there.

Get inspired to mix and match what you already have. Maybe the streets are colourful and you want a colourful outfit.

Bring a comfortable alternative

A very realistic tip. You may want to be elegant every day, but people change their minds. Especially on a long trip. After a few days, you may not want to “dress up”. So bring a cute and comfortable alternative.

Ultimately vacation outfits are not as important as you think. The memories are what lasts forever. Just have fun and enjoy.
